Reigning Jimmy Watson trophy winners Turkey Flat have been crafting expressive, varietal wines from ancient vines near Bethany, South Australia since 1990, with vineyards in the family dating back to the mid-1800s. Fifth generation Christie Schulz and her son Alex (a CWS alumni) have guided the brand to remain in the very top tier of Barossan producers. This culminated in collecting the Jimmy last year for their 2016 Grenache, the most prestigious wine award in the land. Long sold out, you’ll have a rare opportunity to drink it on the evening!
Join us at Recoleta on Tuesday 4 September as we welcome Alex back to host a relaxed dinner featuring the standout wines from Turkey Flat. Grenache and shiraz from gnarly old vines will be the stars, matched to a 5 course menu featuring Turducken (chicken, in a duck, in a turkey!) on a spit manned by our resident butcher Simon Poole. This is sure to be a highlight of our events calendar this year, so be quick to secure your place.
