Geologically, it’s a rock climber’s paradise, and its cool climate and mists offer growers further scope in which to express this unique terroir.
What does this mean? Think everything from sparkling wine vineyards at high elevation, to powerful, full bodied syrah from ancient, granite rich soils. Want more? Bindi’s precision chardonnays issue from quartz soils and the biodynamically tended gardens of Cobaw Ridge are home to a kaleidoscope of viticulture. There’s even Castlemaine’s johnny-come-lately ring in, Little Reddie who’s crossed the border as part of the talented spring chickens joining the Macedon old guard.
With us on the night, to talk you through their wines will be the likes of Michael Dhillon (Bindi), Matt Harrop (Curly Flat & Silent Way), Alan, Nelly & Josh Cooper (Cobaw Ridge & Joshua Cooper Wines) & Al Timms (Shadowfax) plus many more.
